How to make Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes Recipe: Easy and Delicious Potato Dish
01 Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
02 Slice the potatoes using a Mandoline Slicer or sharp knife to approximately ⅛-inch thickness.
03 Create the roux: Melt butter over medium heat in a Saucepan. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute to thicken.
04 Make the cream sauce: Gradually Whisk in whole milk and heavy cream. Continue Whisking until the sauce begins to thicken and coats the back of a spoon.
05 Add 1 Cup of cheddar cheese to the sauce, stirring until melted.
06 Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish, overlapping slightly.
07 Add half of the sliced onions and pour half of the cheese sauce over the layer.
08 Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, onions, and sauce.
09 Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
10 Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender and top is golden brown.
